LeapFrog Announce Recall to Repair "Alphabet Pal" Educational Pull
Toys
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),
LeapFrog, a division of Knowledge Kids Enterprises Inc., of Emeryville,
Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 500,000 "Alphabet Pal"
electronic pull toys. The toy has a two-part, red plastic connector on the
pull string designed to separate under tension. The plastic pieces can
detach from the string when the connector is pulled apart and could pose a
choking hazard to young children.

Playskool Announce Recall of Additional 170,000 Busy Poppin' Pals Toys
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),
Playskool, of Pawtucket, R.I., is voluntarily expanding its recall program
for its Busy Poppin' Pals toys to include 170,000 Sesame Street Busy Poppin'
Pals toys. Small springs inside these toys can break loose, posing a choking
and laceration hazard to young children.

Recalled by Kent International and Kash 'N Gold
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Kent
International Inc., of Parsippany, N.J.; and Kash 'N Gold Ltd., of
Ronkonkoma, N.Y., are voluntarily recalling about 97,500 scooters.
Bicycles
Recalled by DiaTech USA and Derby USA
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),
DiaTech USA, of Kenmore, Wash., and Derby USA, of Kent, Wash., are recalling
about 5,000 bicycles for repair. The disc brakes on these bicycles can stick
and prevent the brake pads from returning to the proper position when the
brake lever is released. This can cause the rider to lose control and crash.

Reminds Parents About Nightwear Safety - T-shirts cause nearly 200 burn
injuries to children each year
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is reminding parents to
choose sleepwear that will protect children from serious burn injuries.
"Winter is here and parents will be shopping for pajamas that will keep
their children warm during the cold weather," said CPSC Commissioner
Thomas Moore. "Be sure to shop for safety by looking for tags that say
the garment is flame-resistant or snug- fitting."

Pacifiers Recall by Small Beginnings Inc.
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC),
Small Beginnings Inc., of Hesperia, Calif., is recalling about 16,000
pacifiers. The pacifiers failed CPSC testing standards. These pacifiers
present a choking hazard to infants.

As the holidays approach, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
is urging people to look for and eliminate potential dangers from holiday
lights and decorations that could lead to fires and injuries.
